Might start digital space art?

Mon Jan 4, 2010, 9:17 PM
For the past 3 years or so, I've mostly..actually, all of my space art have been traditional work. and to be honest, it's actually quite difficult to do space art with paint and other mediums. I've realized lately that I don't seem to EXACTLY get the affect I want when I use paint...so I've been thinking about starting some digital space art. It's not going to be very easy, but it's worth a shot. and if I don't like it, I'll just stick with traditional work..no big deal.

Anyways, I'm going to be practicing digital space art for the next few months or so. But I'll still be posting some traditional work(since I'm still working on the art portfolio for school).

I might possibly post some digital art if they are...somewhat good...for my taste.

Space art is now in progress

Mon Oct 19, 2009, 8:55 PM
so this year's AP Studio Art portfolio is for 2-D Design, but my teacher says there's only a slight difference between a Drawing and Design portfolio. in other words, I can do spaceart in my Design portfolio as well! I'm currently working on a piece right now, which is a picture of a moon orbiting along with an asteroid belt around a civilized planet (the "city" lights shining on the dark side of planet implies this). The painting has a blue theme since the objects are orbiting around a blue super-giant (which isn't shown in the painting). so it doesn't have real-life colors.
since I believe I improved on how to use techniques for space-art, it'll probably turn out good...maybe, maybe not. but i'm sure it won't look completely disgusting. so anyways, just a heads-up for anyone who added me to their watchlist, or for anyone who were looking forward to more space art from me (if there is any ahaha). thanks.

So, I've started to work on those space-art/fantasy paintings I talked about on the previous journal (I couldn't work on it because I've been working on college apps...). It's gonna get pretty busy around here. Also, I'm going to be taking AP Studio Art again this year, but this time i'll be doing Design...i think. So the art i will be posting will most likely be space-art design/ fantasy design...you get my point. I'll prpbably be posting my current works too, so ..ya. just letting people know.

Space Art ...in process

Mon Jul 13, 2009, 3:42 PM
For the past 2 months, i haven't been working on any space art whatsoever, and im feel like i need to do more....because i feel uncomfortable if i don't. And from seeing all the wonderful works of my favorite space-artists, they have inspired me to do more! The thing is, i have all kinds of ideas in my head for space-art, but i just cant EXACTLY put it onto the paper/canvas. I guess i need to boost my skills on that...im also trying to get used to doing space-art on photoshop, but it's still really difficult, so i feel more comfortable painting it by hand(which im much more better at than digital art). Anyways, i started working on 3 different sci-fi/space art: one is of a hidden futuristic city deep in the mountains of japan, another of a boy in an elevator in a city of a different planet, and the last one is a painting of two-star system near an emisson nebula(which is blue). So, just letting you guys know that i will be posting these hopefully soon, and if you guys have any more ideas for space art/sci-fi, please let me know :) it would be very helpful. Thanks!

AP Studio Art Portfolio

Wed Apr 29, 2009, 8:42 PM
So....the time has almost come for us to turn in our portfolios....by May 8. im a bit worried if my portfolio is good enough to get a 5 (its graded from 1-5, 5 being the best). ive spent many hours on my pieces, especially the paintings, and ive been shooting for a 5. if i dont get a 5, i guess ill be a little disappointed, but i guess i can try next year, since im going to take AP Art again next year. just FYI, my concentration for next year is going to be "The scintillate universe", in which im just going to be doing many space-art pieces. hopefully they will be much better since i have gained knowledge on how to do (very?)good space-art. however, im completely open to any critisism or advice/comments that anybody has or will have on my art (which i will greatly appreciate).
